International Master Guide Camp Holland

The Master Guide Camp is currently taking place at "Oud Zandbergen" in Holland. During the past few days Master Guides have arrived from all over Europe to attend this unique event. On the first day, Jonatan Tejel opened the camp with an inspiring talk, encouraging Master Guides to not just wear the uniform but to be a true pathfinder in your heart.

During the Sabbath Master Guides got their first chance to share their skills in their respective units. In the evening there was a panel discussion about "hot-potatoes" in pathfindering. For this occassion the president of the Netherlands Union, Reinder Bruinsma, joined in together with the TED Youth Director, Paul Tompkins, World Pathfinder Director, Jonatán Tejel and Netherlands Union Pathfinder Director, Klaas Man. Lively discussions took place on several issues while other workshops took place.

During the Sunday all participants were taken on a tour through the historic city of Utrecht some 10 kilometers from the camp. While in the afternoon they shared their final skill within their own unit. In the evening each unit shared their creativity around a bonfire, which turned out to be the highlight of the camp. With sketches and jells from all over Europe, an inspiring talk from Jonatan Tejel and plenty of warm drinks afterwards.

Despite the rainy start of the Monday, the final day of the camp, it turned out to be an excellent day for the evaluation game. Due to the early departure of the Danes, the camp was closed down a little bit earlier. During the closing remarks a flag with the Master Guide logo on it was handed over to Paul Tompkins. This flag will fly at the next International Master Guide Camp and badges from each camp will be sown onto the flag. With this final act the camp had come to close, the participant and the staff can look back to an excellent camp.
